Plot Summary[]
Victoria has a dream where she stands on the beach as a massive tsunami wave crashes over her. Piper suggests it could be a warning at breakfast the next morning. Rick decides approach Sritala directly. He claims to be a film producer and suggests casting her in a major Hollywood production. She appears flattered and gives him her number so they can connect in Bangkok. Meanwhile, Valentin offers an energy healing session to the three women, and Jaclyn encourages Laurie to take part, noting that Valentin seems like the perfect opportunity for a casual fling.
Timothy’s phone continues to ring, and when he finally answers, he learns that federal agents are looking for him at his office. Soon after, Saxon receives work-related calls, prompting Timothy to seize his son’s phone and shut it off. He suddenly proposes that the entire family turn in their phones to the hotel for the week to focus on being present. Saxon hesitates but agrees after Timothy persuades him. They tie their devices in a bag and hand them over to hotel staff member Pam to store in the safe.
Jaclyn, Kate, and Laurie participate in a yoga session with Valentin, during which he adjusts their poses in an intimate manner. Jaclyn responds enthusiastically. Elsewhere, Rick has another session with Amrita, admitting that he has done many bad things. Meanwhile, Piper visits a temple and speaks with a monk, revealing that she is considering spending a year at the monastery after college. Laurie attends an energy healing session with Valentin, and Lochlan undergoes posture correction, during which he is told that his sitting posture indicates emotional self-protection.
By the pool, Chelsea and Chloe relax while Chloe shares that Gary/Greg’s ex-wife was mentally ill and took her own life. Rick, meanwhile, decides to go into town to buy marijuana, and Chelsea joins him, allowing Saxon to take her place beside Chloe. Elsewhere, Gaitok feels good after receiving thanks from Sritala for attempting to stop the robbery. However, his mood shifts when her bodyguards inform him that Fabian wanted him fired, and Sritala intervened to save his job. They mock him, stating that he failed at the one thing he was paid to do. Meanwhile, Timothy, despite surrendering his phone, remains visibly anxious. Victoria offers him one of her pills, assuring him they are not addictive and that she only takes them when necessary. He reluctantly takes one.
Rick and Chelsea visit a street vendor to buy marijuana before attending a snake show. Rick complains that the snakes should not be caged, and as a handler presents venomous cobras, Rick appears increasingly disturbed—possibly due to the effects of the marijuana. Suddenly, he rushes into the enclosure and releases the snakes. Chelsea follows him, only to be bitten by a cobra. She is taken to the hospital, with Rick following in a taxi. She recovers quickly and returns for a dinner with Chloe and Gary on the beach.
Jaclyn asks Laurie about her energy healing experience. Laurie admits it felt somewhat personal, but Kate dismisses the concept of energy healing, then stating that her family regularly attends church in Austin. Jaclyn comments that it must be difficult to be around Trump supporters, but Kate defends them as friendly people. Laurie then directly asks Kate if she voted for Trump. Kate avoids answering, instead rolling her eyes and suggesting they avoid political discussions.
Later, Belinda reflects on her past interactions with Tanya and realizes something. She approaches "Gary" and directly asks if his name is Greg and if he was married to Tanya McQuoid. He denies it, pretending not to know what she is talking about. Confused, Belinda walks away, while Chloe jokes that all bald white men look alike.
Saxon tells his family that they have been invited to go on a boat the next day. Victoria, skeptical, asks whether the hosts are decent people. Saxon simply responds that they are wealthy, which is good enough for him. Meanwhile, Timothy, back in the suite, is passed out from the pills, and Belinda continues to observe Greg, convinced she knows him. Gaitok is informed that he has a meeting with Fabian the next day. Rick calls a friend named Frank in Bangkok, cryptically telling him that he needs assistance with a few matters. Chelsea remains angry at Rick for releasing the snakes, telling him that snakes are evil according to the Bible. He counters that mistreating evil things only makes them worse. She warns him that if he ever gets her killed, she will haunt him in this life and the next.
Pornchai walks Belinda back to her room and tells her with a smile that he hopes they dream of each other. Back at their suite, Jaclyn and Laurie laugh together without Kate who feels left out, seeing that they're talking about her support of Trump. As Victoria sleeps, Timothy secretly takes another one of her pills.
