"Italian Dream" is the second episode of the second season of The White Lotus. It is the eighth episode of the series overall. It was released on November 6, 2022 on HBO and HBO Max. It was written and directed by Mike White.
Synopsis[]
Though Harper bristles at Ethan's suggestion that she's overly critical, her suspicions are raised when Cameron and Daphne claim they never fight. Meanwhile, Lucia and Mia take full advantage of their newly acquired hotel guest status, Albie and Portia (sort of) connect over dinner, and Tanya enlists Greg to help her live out her perfect day in Sicily...on a Vespa.
Plot Summary[]
Dominic arranges for Lucia and Mia to be added to his room as his guests at the hotel so that they don't have any issues entering. Portia joins the Di Grasso family's excursion to the ancient theater of Taormina. Bert's inappropriate conversations persist.
Albie and Portia's intimate dinner conversation delves into their romantic inclinations. They kiss at the end of the evening.
Meanwhile, Bert talks to Dominic about his careless approach to extramarital affairs. Later, Dominic opens up to Lucia about his struggle with sex addiction.
Ethan and Harper face hurdles when they attempt to reignite their sexual chemistry, unlike the passionate connection between Cameron and Daphne. Harper finds herself entangled in an uncomfortable situation when Cameron makes advances during a swim. Seeking to mend fences, Harper apologizes to Ethan and pledges to make the most of their journey.
The trip's dynamics take a new turn as Greg informs Tanya that he has to catch a flight back to Denver for work. However, later on, Tanya eavesdrops on Greg and thinks he's having a tense conversation with a potential lover.
