"In the Sandbox" is the fourth episode of the second season of The White Lotus. It is the tenth episode of the series overall. It was released on November 20, 2022 on HBO and HBO Max. It was written and directed by Mike White.
Synopsis[]
When Tanya receives an impromptu invite from dashing ex-pat Quentin, Portia finds herself spending the day with his beguiling nephew, Jack. After returning from her trip with Daphne, a relieved Harper is blindsided by a piece of evidence from Ethan’s night out. Meanwhile, a suddenly guilt-ridden Lucia tries to keep Mia on a righteous path.
Plot Summary[]
Cameron doesn't pay Lucia and Mia which upsets them. Harper and Daphne return from their excursion to Noto. Harper inquries as to what the boys got into the evening before. Ethan doesn't fully admit everything but admits they got really drunk. Harper finds a condom wrapper in the room and she is furious. However, she opts to stew in her anger rather than confronting Ethan directly.
Meanwhile, Tanya's social circle expands as she forms a connection with Quentin, a well-off English man residing in Palermo. Introduced to Quentin's circle, Tanya finds herself enjoying the experience. Portia's journey takes an intriguing turn when she meets Quentin's nephew, Jack, whom she met previously at the pool.
Unaware of Lucia's profession, Albie and Lucia bond during Portia's absence. Meanwhile, Lucia grapples with her life choices, while Mia makes a bold decision to pursue a connection with Giuseppe for the sake of her music career, disregarding Lucia's cautionary advice. The situation takes an unfortunate turn when Giuseppe's attempt to enhance his performance leads to a medical emergency.
Jack and Portia flirt at the bar and go back to sleep together. Albie and Lucia see them at the bar and Albie feels awkward about it. Lucia helps him make her jealous. She takes him back to his room and she gives him oral sex.
