"Hide or Seek" is the fourth episode of the third season of The White Lotus. It is the seventeenth episode of the series overall. It was released on March 9, 2025 on HBO and HBO Max.
Synopsis[]
"Looking for a change of scenery, Jaclyn drags the girls to a neighboring resort on Valentin's suggestion but fails to find the young party vibe she hoped for. On Chloe's boyfriend's luxury yacht, Piper asks for Lochlan's support before sharing a life update with the family, and Rick finally opens up to Chelsea about his past." ― Official site
Plot Summary[]
Jaclyn struggles to reach her husband Harrison, while Belinda expresses excitement about her son Zion joining her in Thailand. Timothy, still emotionally unstable, takes another shower and consumes more of Victoria’s pills. Gaitok believes he may be up for a promotion, but instead receives a warning about the seriousness of his responsibilities. His supervisor later provides him with a firearm and instructs him to learn how to use it.
Victoria demands to know who has been taking her medication, which she needs for a boat ride Saxon set up. Chelsea remains shaken from a recent cobra encounter, while Rick initially refuses to join the boat ride. However, Chelsea convinces him to attend before his flight to Bangkok. At the hotel lobby, they encounter Amrita, who encourages Rick to find peace in his life.
Jaclyn, frustrated by Harrison’s unresponsiveness, asks Valentin for a fun destination, but ends up at a resort populated mostly by retirees. She finds the setting unsuitable. Meanwhile, Saxon and his family board the yacht, where they are greeted by Chloe. Victoria hides her purse, suspicious of those around her. When Timothy spots Rick on the boat, he retrieves a pill from Victoria’s bag and then takes the entire bottle.
Piper confides in Lochlan that she plans to spend a year in Thailand after graduation and asks for his support when she tells their parents. However, Saxon distracts Lochlan and encourages him to flirt with other women. Onboard, the guests include older men and younger Thai women. Timothy speaks at length about his past and family. Victoria notices her medication is missing and reacts strongly. Lochlan entertains others with magic tricks while Saxon grows closer to Chloe, which is observed by Greg.
Rick finally reveals to Chelsea that his father was murdered, and he believes the hotel owner’s husband is responsible. This is the reason for his trip to Bangkok. Back at the hotel, Jaclyn confronts Valentin about the previous destination, prompting him to take them to a busy local market. There, the women end up participating in a water-based celebration. Belinda investigates the past and learns that Tanya died under mysterious circumstances and that her husband, Greg, remains a person of interest.
Chloe wants to attend a full moon party and plans to drop Greg/Gary off beforehand. Greg encounters Timothy, who makes casual conversation. After docking, Saxon, Lochlan, and Chelsea remain on board for the party. Piper is disappointed that Lochlan chose not to support her. Meanwhile, Jaclyn, Kate, and Laurie head to a beach club with Valentin and two of his acquaintances, Alexi and Vlad.
During dinner, Victoria criticizes the people she encountered on the boat. Timothy, motivated by her remarks, retrieves his phone from Pam and receives numerous messages. He calls his lawyer, who informs him that his associate has taken a plea deal. The lawyer advises Timothy to plead guilty as well, but Timothy worries about the impact on his life and career. Overwhelmed, he later notices that Gaitok’s unattended security booth contains a firearm. When Gaitok returns, the gun is missing.
Meanwhile, Greg is seen looking up Belinda online. On the yacht, Saxon and Lochlan celebrate with the other guests as the night continues.
